Chris Kent
Owner & Chief AME
Chris started in 1976 working for Pacific Aircraft Salvage, and in 1988 went on to be the operations manager and AME for Waglisla Airlines, working on float planes everywhere from Vancouver to Prince Rupert. In 2010, he founded Kent Air and acted as PRM for Pacific Rim Aviation Academy. Not content to rest on his laurels, in 2018 Chris founded Nexus Aircraft Maintenance (now an AMO), and uses his years of float plane experience, technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to detail to specialize in De Havilland Beavers and various other float planes.
Cameron Gerick
Senior AME, AME-ACA/ASCA
For over 18 years, Cameron has utilized his ACA & SCA privileges to perform and certify major repairs on a variety of aircraft with companies such as Lindair Services and Harbour Air. In addition, he's employed his extensive understanding of aircraft systems and trouble-shooting expertise as PRM for Halycon Aviation and Pacific Rim Aviation Academy. He's been working with Nexus Aircraft Maintenance since 2018, accurately diagnosing and creatively troubleshooting complex malfunctions, and in his spare time he utilizes his expertise in structural integrity, precision measurements, and detailed craftsmanship to custom-build guitars.
Marshall Kanda-Kwan
Apprentice AME-M
With a 91% GPA, Marshall graduated with distinction from BCIT's Aerospace and Technology campus. He employs his strong understanding of aircraft systems and his rigorous attention to detail in all inspections and repairs, be it for aircraft maintenance or pre-buy inspections. When not working on planes, Marshall takes his expert precision, finesse, and hand-eye coordination onto the court; in his spare time, he is a competitive badminton player with over a dozen first-place trophies under his belt.
Benjamin Mangal
AME-S Airframe/Composites
After being presented with the prestigious Associate Dean's Award in 1999 - the first student to ever earn such a distinction at the Aerospace and Technology Campus of BCIT - Benjamin began working for Chris in 1999 at Pacific Aircraft Salvage. He went on to work for 10 years at Heliproducts Industries, then provide 14 years of avionic support at Maxcraft Avionics while earning his AME-M1 license. His expertise took him all over the globe, working on medivac aircraft for Search & Rescue and police/sheriff departments in Alaska, California, Montana, Louisiana, Alabama, and even the Navy in Australia. He's pleased to have returned to working with Chris at Nexus.
Kevin Blink
AME apprentice
Upon graduating from BCIT's Aerospace and Technology campus, Kevin's strong aptitude for technical work and his attention to detail in diagnosing and repairing aircraft issues have led him to work with Campbell Helicopters and with Con Air during firefighting season. His innate skills with AC/DC circuits, wiring, and electronic components, combined with his strong ability to diagnose complex electronic issues, isn't limited to avionics; outside of work, Kevin has a passion for micro-electronics, buying and refurbishing old tech consoles and computers.
